Our favourite festival of the annual calendar is just around the corner, the Mind Body Spirit Festival. This jam-packed festival is full of exciting talks, workshops and exhibitors that are all dedicated to the same goal as our website, thats increasing your Wellness. So in the lead up to the festival we'll be bringing you a one-on-one weekly interview with one of the shows main stars.
This week, Abby Wynne is our Wellness Guru, a leading Psychotherapist, Shamanic Practitioner and Reiki Master as well as an Author to name just a few of her talents. Abby is a catch if you're into Wellness so make sure to stop by her stand (No. 14) at the Mind Body Spirit Festival in October. Below is a sneak preview on what to expect ......i can't wait!

1. Tell us about yourself Abby, and how you got to be where you are today?
I am an Psychotherapist, Shamanic Practitioner, a Reiki Master Teacher an internationally published Author and a Teacher.
I always knew that we were more than just a brain, I went through a spiritual crisis in my 20's and counselling wasn't enough to help. I discovered the spiritual path, and nothing was ever the same again! I left my scientific career and moved into teaching, and in the meantime I got married, had 4 children and qualified in psychotherapy, shamanism and energy healing.
I discovered my own unique way to blend shamanism with psychotherapy and energy healing to create a powerful transformational process which I share with people through my Mp3 downloads, my books, online classes and in private session. My drive has brought me to this moment in time, I believe that people have an innate capacity to heal themselves, they may just require a little bit of guidance as to how to do it.
2. How you spend your average working day?
I don't have an average working day, that's why I love what I do! I have an office in Fitzwilliam Square where I see clients and write my books, and do administration. Some days I work evenings, so I don't get into the office until later on, and I like to spend time with my children so I work from home the odd day too.
I have rejoined a gym, I am a vegetarian and I love green juice, we grow veggies at home in a raised bed and my husband has an allotment where he grows kale, beetroot, spinach and other wonderful things.
3. What inspires you?
The bravery of my clients inspires me, their willingness to go deep and do their inner work and transform patterns that have been holding them back.
My children inspire me, their way of looking at the world, their enthusiasm for life and the brightness of their spirits.
Nature inspires me, it's beauty, it's cycles, it's wisdom.
Love feeds me and keeps me going, I have a daily spiritual practice where I connect to love and this is what drives me forward each day.
4. What’s your goal in life?
I don't set a goal for my life, I live in the moment. I have done so many things, when I look back on what I've accomplished I am amazed. All I know is that I am here, now. That I have valuable information that I want to share, that can change people's lives.
5. What does Wellness mean to you?
My newest book from Hay House is called "How to Be Well", it's a guidebook for wellness, where wellness is a state of being where you are content, in flow, healthy, vibrant and have a zest for life. It encompasses everything: mind, body and spirit.
I created a wellness scale in my book, How to Be Well, which takes you through values from 1-10, encourages you to check into wellness several times a day and to value yourself enough to not take on things that are overwhelming when you're not feeling well.
6. Tell us about your business
I am in Dublin city centre, but I do Skype sessions on one to one, and I have healing sessions on audio Mp3 available for download too. You can find me via my website www.abby-wynne.com
7. Tell us about what you'll be doing at the Mind Body Spirit Festival this year in the RDS?
I will be at stand 14 with my books and cd's, and giving a free talk every day about empowerment, returning to love and being in the moment.
8. Tell us your Top 3 Tips for Wellness?
1. Check in with yourself and give yourself what you need more than what you want
2. Do your inner work
3. Have a daily spiritual practice
9. So what’s next in your career/life?
I have another book in the making and I hope to get a publishing deal for that before the end of the year. I am running an online coaching group called "Healing Emotional Eating" starting mid-November. I will be running my "Raise your Vibration Bootcamp" online class next Feb and I am always available for client sessions.
