You know you have those days when you come across someone in the street, at a networking event or in your Yoga class and you just think 'WOW! I am digging your vibes girl/guy'. Well today was one of those days, when i was lucky enough to be put in touch with Mel Wells, she of former Hollyoaks fame who has become a Wellness ambassador for women across the U.K.

N.B. We have a copy of her book 'The Goddess Revolution' to give away - visit our social media channels to find out how you can enter
This is a girl who has battled an eating disorder, has fallen in and out of love (and back in) with herself and generally been through the mill, but has come out the other side twice-as-good somehow. She's so inspirational, we asked her to be this weeks Wellness Guru and share her tips on how to make those life-altering changes and inspire transformation in your life.

Previously a successful model and actress, with a lead role in Hollyoaks, Mel struggled with a brutal eating disorder for 7 years. Something struck Mel when her father became terminally ill and she eventually created a unique method to heal herself and change her attitude to food. She is now dedicated to empowering women to quit dieting for good by adopting a healthy, loving relationship with food, and a brand new lifestyle that reflects this. Mel speaks in a language modern day women can relate to, and countless women, including well-known faces, have been drawn to Mel's positive and engaging approach to helping them overcome issues with their food and bodies via The Green Goddess Life & Academy. This is what 'The Goddess Revolution' encapsulates, whilst also citing experiences from Mel's past and case studies from women Mel has worked with. It is not a recipe book or a 'tell all' autobiography and it's not offering a new set of dietary rules to follow. Instead its offering women an inspirational way to achieve food and body freedom for life and its getting tremendously positive feedback from industry stalwarts. "Mel has such an inspirational message to help women fall back in love with themselves! She writes with such integrity and love..." Madeleine Shaw, Health Coach and Bestselling Author of Get The Glow “Mel Wells is a light in the world. In her book The Goddess Revolution, Mel helps us break free of judgement and guilt — especially around food and our body image.” David Avocado Wolfe

1. Tell us about yourself Mel, and how you got to be where you are today?
I teach women how to heal their relationships with food and body image. This is a topic very close to my heart as it’s something that took me a long time to figure out for myself. I wrote the book ‘The Goddess Revolution’ and run self love retreats in the UK and Bali.
2. Tell us how you spend your average working day
Every day is different but I’m usually working from home or running between meetings in London. I try to either go to the gym in the morning or go for a run at some point during the day.
Food wise, it’s always different but if I’m at home I’m usually drinking a green smoothie at breakfast and making a big omelette for lunch. If I’m on the go I’ll grab healthy options from chains like Pret or Tossed. I’m very much go-with-the-flow now with my food, and flexible to change.
3. What inspires you? Anyone who’s been able to make a change in their lives and choose love over fear.
4. What’s your goal in life? To awaken the masses! To reach as many women as possible and help them quit dieting and start truly loving themselves and reclaiming their love of good food again!
5. What does 'Wellness' mean to you?
Wellness to me starts in the mind. You can drink all the kale smoothies in the world and eat all the quinoa, but if you’re still obsessing over that one slice of pizza you had last weekend, that’s not ‘wellness’ to me.
Having a healthy body is great - but true wellness is a state of love and compassion for yourself and your body - which all begins in the mind,
6. What advice would you give to a person looking to transform their life?
Surround yourself with positivity. Infuse positivity into every part of your day.
Surround yourself with people who believe in you, not people who drag you down or make you feel bad about yourself.
7. Tell us more about your business, your new book and the exciting Female Only retreats you have coming up?
My Book, The Goddess Revolution (out on 7th June) is a handbook for women to help them make peace with food, love their bodies and reclaim their lives. It’s a collection of tools, mindset shifts and lessons, as well as stories from my own journey and other women that I’ve worked with.
Retreat wise we have Bali in July and UK in September, then Bali again in January 17.
8. Tell us your Top 3 Tips for Wellness?
1. Be kind to yourself - your best is good enough
2. Don’t try to eat your feelings - acknowledge your emotions and what’s underneath the desire to eat
3. Move your body in a way that feels loving not punishing
9. So what’s next in your career/life?
Reaching the masses with the book. I would like to reach more women in America and other continents as most of my audience is UK. There is still so much work to do in the world to get women into a loving place with their food and bodies. I have a lot of work to do but I’m getting there.
'The Goddess Revolution, Make Peace with Food, Love Your Body and Reclaim Your Life' by Mel Wells is published on the 7th June (Hay House). To preorder: HERE!!
