We love a Wellness Guru with a bit of 'Chutzpah' and this weeks Guru Vicky Lee has buckets of it, from starting her own Tech enterprise during the Silicon Valley boom to launching her latest venture, Beauty site Sorabelle.com, They didn't do half measures when they were handing out brains to this girl. She has it all! So we asked her to share her Wellness tips with us this week....

1. Tell us about yourself Vicky Lee, and how you got to be where you are today?

I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea and moved to the U.S.A. to go to graduate school at Cornell. After my master’s degree, I started a high-tech company in Silicon Valley which I ran for 5-6 years before taking a long break to focus on raising my kids. After moving to London three years ago, I wanted to start a blog about something I have always been passionate about; helping women achieve flawless skin. People forget that there’s a lot more to skincare than just using the right products. Our lifestyles and diets also play huge roles in our skin health, which is why I take an all-encompassing approach to skincare. Along with my best tricks and tips, I share the latest insights and innovations behind the Korean skincare philosophy and a healthy lifestyle.

2. What inspires you?

I have always had an inquisitive and curious mind. Travelling and talking to other people intrigues me. I also like to be alone to think clearly. I love to read books and explore beauty websites. Another great way to get inspired is just to put on my sneakers on and go for a run!

3. What’s your goal in life?

My goal is to be happy and do what I love and care for the people I love. For this reason, I love Monday and mornings in general because I can’t wait to get to work and do great things!

4. What does Wellness mean to you?

For me, it is all about balance, which I found extremely difficult to find. That’s why I don’t believe in certain detox regimes or diets in general. The body and mind are all about flow and balance and not quick fixes.

5. Tell us how you spend your working day

6:00AM I have four daughters under the age of 8 so my day starts very early! I make myself green tea or chai tea with soymilk.

6:30AM I have to get ready very quickly before everyone wakes up but I never miss my 8 steps morning beauty regime. Cleanser, Toner, Essence, Ampoule, Serum, Eye Cream, Moisturiser and the all important Sunscreen, I tend to only use mascara, eyeliner, and a lip balm in my daily make-up routine. If I feel like looking a little more glamorous, I also use a UV cushion foundation and a lipstick.

7:00 AM Get the four girls ready for school and make breakfast. My favorite breakfast is a fruit smoothie with greek yogurt and honey. I also love eggs in the morning for an extra power boost. And by 8.20am they're ready to be dropped off at school

9:00 AM I try to go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I truly think it’s the best way to start any day! Then i head straight to my first Sorabelle meeting with a juice in hand.

12:30 AM Lunchtime! I usually eat sushi or soup and a salad for lunch. Noodles with tofu and vegetables is another of my favorite foods. Then straight back to work. By 3pm the kids need collecting and homework time starts.

5:00 PM Dinner! I try to avoid processed food and love to eat meat and fish with lots of vegetables and healthy grains such as brown rice and quinoa.

6:00 PM Bath time for the kids before books and playtime before bed at 7.30pm

10:00 PM My 10 step night beauty regime (Double cleanse with both an oil-based cleanser and water-based cleanser); Exfoliator, Toner, Essence, Ampoule, Serum, Sheet mask, Eye cream, Moisturiser, Sleeping mask and by 10.30PM i'm in bed, It is so important to have a good night sleep for my skin!

6. What advice would you give to a person looking to transform their life?

Follow your heart and do what you love. True passion will change your life and the motivation is everything.

7. What is true beauty in your eyes?

For me, true beauty means being healthy and happy. Your skin is a mirror of your health. It is not only about what products you use but it is a holistic approach to achieve true beauty. All women deserve to take good care of yourself and love yourself AND that’s what makes us happy. It’s the circle of life!

8. Tell us your Top 3 Tips for Wellness?

  • Eat healthy: What you feed your body is as important as what you put on your face or body!

  • Exercise regularly: When you exercise in a maximum strength, your body will release endorphins which makes you happy. I cannot stress how important exercise is for the mind and body.

  • Take care of your skin with the 10 steps beauty regime even if you are tired and busy!

9. So what’s next in your career/life?

I want to become a Korean beauty product curator using my knowledge and research and want to bring all the best Korean skincare products available to women. My dream would be to build a Korea's biggest Beauty site.
