VOYA Seaweed Baths Win the 2016 Wellness Travel Awards

One of my very favourite treats when i need a lift is to visit VOYA Seaweed Baths on Irelands West Coast in Co. Sligo's Strandhill. Perched right on the beach and beside the best little Cafe in the West, 'Shells Cafe' ; there really is no better place to spend an afternoon.

Thats why i'm so delighted VOYA Seaweed Baths have been announced as winners of the prestigious ‘Best in Ireland’ Country/Regional Award in this year’s 2016 Wellness Travel Awards.

Presented by SpaFinder Wellness 365, in association with World Travel Market, the global winners of the 2016 Wellness Travel Awards were announced at the press event held at World Travel Market in central London. Having been nominated alongside a large volume of high quality entries, VOYA Seaweed Baths stood out to the judging panel comprising 39 wellness travel editors and experts, who nominated and selected the finalists before voting was handed to the world’s public.

Inaugurated in 2014, the awards recognise hotels, resorts, destination spas and retreats offering the best in wellness vacations and experiences across six continents and in 41 countries, along with the top 10 properties in each of 20 categories. This year, 388 finalists competed for top honours, with VOYA being the only Irish finalists.

The success didn’t stop there, as VOYA Seaweed Baths went on to win a Category Award for ‘Best Hidden Gem’ – an incredible achievement for the family-run sea-weed bath business, founded on the west coast of Strandhill in Co. Sligo. The award recognises the hard work and dedication of the team behind VOYA Seaweed Baths that has seen the company grow to become one of Sligo’s most popular landmarks, and one of the few seaweed baths in the country.
