10 Wellness Tips that will change your life

1. Add more veggies into your diet!

Aim to eat at least 2 types of fruit and 3 types of vegetables throughout the day. You can blend them into soup or smoothies, create delicious roast vegetables dishes with spices and herbs to increase taste, incorporate them into salads or eat them raw. Your skin will look healthier, your eyes brighter and your digestion will flow more freely. Aim for the deepest green veggies if you can!

2. Start using Coconut Oil in your daily skin and hair-care regime

Did you know coconut oil can be used for everything from the obvious body moisturiser to a liquid for oil-pulling? It can be used in haircare (check out our tips today from Tara O'Farrell for a hair mask) , cooking and makeup remover and more.

3. Add Turmeric to your smoothies and coffee

Turmeric is a known anti-inflammatory, and aids digestion. Add a teaspoon to your smoothie in the morning, or been with Soya Milk or Almond Milk in your coffee for aided health benefits

4. Add Goji berries to your breakfast cereal or smoothie

Start your day with a bang by adding this known superfood to your morning snack. You'll be energised, its asked full of nutrients that will sustain your energy throughout the day.

5. Get Moving!

Get your heart-rate up, to at least a light sweat in your cardio exercise routine to ensure you're burning calories, getting your heart pumping and increasing endorphins. it might be hard to get to the gym but you'll never regret it afterwards!

6. Set Goals!

If you've never given yourself a fitness goal before, its time to start. I don't mean the old 'trying to lose weight goal' though that is commendable. i'm talking about running your very first 5k, doing your first open ocean swim or climbing a peak near you. Set the goal, try to get a friend to join you for support, write down your training program over the next 4 week to outline how you'll achieve it, and picture yourself achieving it! Now all you need to do is IT! Go get 'em!

7. Take a Yoga class

If the stress and strain of daily life is getting to you, take a Yoga class. There are over 15 kinds of Yoga class you can take to suit your fitness style and preferences - if you like to feel the burn try Hot Yoga or Ashtanga, if you want something more relaxing try Hatha and if you're creative and want to be inspired try Vinyasa or Kundalini

8. Take Command of your Mental Health

Wellness isn't just about fitness and clean eating, our minds need help too as they work overtime processing all our emotions, work strains, relationships and everything else we put our little brains through daily. If you're feeling under pressure recently call a friend and ask to meet for a coffee and a chat, open up and share with them if you feel comfortable. If you'd prefer to speak to a professional try your local Counselling service, CBT Specialist or Holistic Therapist. ITS GOOD TO TALK!

9. Take charge of your physical health

If you've been worrying about a health concern, its time to pick up the phone and make an appointment to see your local Doctor. It might be that you've missed a period or a recent smear test for us women. For guys, you might have been putting off getting your prostate checked. Or for any of us, we might be harbouring worry about hereditary health concerns, excessive drinking or smoking or weightless. An appointment with a trusted GP will help you take the next step toward good health and therefore reduce your stress levels. Do it today!

10. Take a minute!

We all lead increasingly busy lives, with pressures, stress and worry. Thats why we all need a minute to sit in a quiet spot in the garden, the corner of your favourite room or in a local park. Take a seat, close your eyes, rest your hands in your lap and take a big deep breathe. Take a second deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth and repeat, using a count of 4 for the inhale and 5 for the exhale. Clear your mind, listen to the silence around you and enjoy a quiet mind even if just for a minute.
