We're always looking for something fun to do over the weekend and April is promising loads to keep us busy for the month. Get out and about, and visit our Top 4 things to do in April 2016

1. World Health Day - April 7th

This year World Health Day focuses on battling Diabetes, raising awareness of its consequences and steps to take to prevent the disease.

- Reducing your refined sugar intake is the first step, so replace sugar with stevia or agave syrup

- Get moving; take up a sport, go for hillwalks, walk the dog, try a yoga class and get that heart pumping

- Maintain a healthy body-weight; if you're not happy with your size visit your local weightloss club

- Stop smoking and reduce alcohol consumption; visit www.quit.ie for help

2. Plymouth hosts Transat Yacht Race

From April 24th to May 2nd, Plymouth will host the historic Transat Yacht Race. This gruelling Yacht Race only comes about every four years so don;t miss your chance to witness it first-hand. Plymouth is also one of the most picturesque cities in the UK, and will have an action packed calender of events over the week from a Blues and Jazz Festival, to a Fireworks Display, you'll have plenty to look at....in addition to the yachting of course!!

3. Punchestown Races

From the 26th to 30th April Punchestown Races are back. As well as the very best in Irish and UK horse racing, Punchestown has announced prize details for the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady competition at the 2016 Punchestown Festival. 4. Tough Mudder, UK

Yes, its time to crawl, shimmy and slide through mud pools, run like you were being chased by zombies and push your body to its limits, AND LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Merrell's Tough Mudder takes place in Culden Faw, Henley on Thames this year and it promises 10 miles of glorious obstacle races that will push you to extremes.
